If your employer asks you to provide a renewed credential through your paycomonline account, submit the appropriate evidence and check how it is recorded after review. Paycom’s Certification Management product supports employee uploads and review by designated approvers. Uploading a file does not establish that the employer has accepted it. Keep the issuer’s credential and the employer’s record separate. The first is evidence you received; the second is how the workplace tracks that evidence.
Identify the document actually requested
Read the assignment for the credential name, issuing organization and any required category or level. A related course certificate may not be the document requested.
If you hold several similar qualifications, compare their scope rather than choosing the newest-looking file. Ask the reviewer which evidence is needed when the assignment is unclear.
For a renewal, determine whether the request concerns the renewed credential, an application confirmation or proof of a prerequisite. Those documents establish different things.
Prepare a readable submission
Check that the evidence belongs to you and that the relevant details are legible.
| Detail | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Credential | It matches the qualification requested |
| Holder | It identifies the correct person |
| Dates | Issue, renewal and expiration dates are not confused |
| Completeness | Required pages or sides are present |
| Readability | The reviewer can read the details |
| Version | The file is the intended current evidence |
This is a preparation aid, not a universal list of Paycom fields.

Describe a pending renewal accurately
Suppose you applied to renew a credential but have not received the updated document. In that hypothetical situation, identify an application confirmation as an application confirmation.
Ask whether the employer wants that interim evidence and what remains necessary. Do not enter an assumed future expiration date based on what you expect the issuer to approve.
If you need to know whether you may perform a particular duty while renewal is pending, ask the responsible workplace contact and consult the relevant issuing authority. A generic software guide cannot establish the requirements for every profession or credential.
Check the review outcome
After submitting, inspect the available response or record. Determine whether the evidence was accepted, returned for correction or remains awaiting review.
Paycom states that approved certifications appear in employee profiles after review. Where that record is available, compare it with the document you provided. Certification Management overview
If the evidence is returned, read the reason before resubmitting. A wrong document, an unreadable image and a missing detail call for different corrections.
New supervisors responsible for review should first confirm their authority. The manager-access guide explains the difference between seeing a record and being responsible for a decision.
Separate training from credential evidence
Completing a course may be part of obtaining a qualification, but it does not establish that the employer has received the specific document requested.
If the issue is inside an assigned course, use the learning guide. If training is complete but a separate certificate remains missing, identify that evidence or review as the unresolved task.
“The course is complete, but the renewed certificate has not been added to my record” is more precise than saying the training system is broken.
Verify dates without relying only on reminders
Paycom advertises expiration notifications and configurable tracking. Use those as workplace tools while also checking the date on the credential itself. Certification tracking
After approval, compare the recorded dates with the evidence. Request a correction if they differ, naming the credential and field involved.
For an unresolved submission near a deadline, ask who owns the review and what action remains. A focused Ask Here inquiry can keep the question attached to the exact credential.
