paycomonline: Add and Switch Between Employer Accounts

If both of your employers use paycomonline for employee access, Paycom documents a way to add their accounts to its mobile app and switch between them. You need the credentials associated with the second employer account. The switching feature is described in Paycom’s official employee tips.

Account switching and workplace recordkeeping are separate issues. Selecting another employer changes the context in which you are working; it does not establish that an assignment or change made for one company satisfies the other.

Add the second account using the documented app route

Paycom gives the following instructions for its mobile app:

  1. Sign in to one employer account.
  2. Select Manage Accounts, then Employee Self-Service.
  3. Select Add Account and sign in using the other account’s credentials.
  4. To switch, use Go to Account, select Employee Self-Service, and choose the other employer.

These labels come from the provider’s account-switching instructions. They should not be treated as a universal desktop procedure. If your interface differs, describe the missing option to your employer instead of choosing a different account-management action.

If the second employer has not provided access, ask for its onboarding or account instructions. Do not assume that you should create a new account independently because the company uses the same software.

Verify the employer before submitting a change

Before acting, identify the selected company, the record you are viewing and the period involved. Those details are more reliable than remembering which account you opened during a previous session.

Consider a hypothetical example: both employers assign a course called “Workplace Safety.” The matching title does not establish that the assignments have identical content or that one completion satisfies both organizations.

Identify each employer’s assignment separately. If you believe previous training should count, ask that employer about equivalency rather than treating the title as proof.

Apply the same check to personal information. After changing a field for one employer, review what the other employer requires separately. The personal-information guide explains how to verify the intended record.

Compare commitments outside the account switch

A free evening on one employer’s schedule does not establish that you are available to work at the other job. Compare both commitments before requesting additional hours or agreeing to an exchange.

Write down the actual dates and times, particularly for overnight work. Similar shift labels can conceal different start dates or locations.

The schedule exchange guide explains how to distinguish a coworker’s agreement from a confirmed workplace assignment. That confirmation is needed within the relevant employer’s process.

Report an account-specific problem accurately

If one account opens and the other does not, identify the affected employer when asking for help. Say whether the issue occurs while adding the account, switching to it or completing a task after it opens.

A working first account narrows your observation but does not prove the cause of the second account’s failure. Avoid describing the entire app as unavailable if the problem is limited to one employer.

Use the employer’s established contact route and provide the exact error wording where useful. Do not send credentials or authentication codes to demonstrate the problem.

For an assignment with a deadline, ask the affected employer for an approved alternative while access is reviewed. Access through another company does not provide an alternative route to the missing record.

Keep follow-up notes tied to the correct organization

A note such as “Employer A — orientation checklist — final acknowledgment still open” is easier to act on than “Paycom problem.” Include the submission date and the specific result you need confirmed.

If you cannot tell which employer issued a task, clarify that before submitting it. Our paycomonline account guide explains the wider distinction between reaching an account and resolving the work inside it.

Repeat the employer check after switching and before every consequential submission. The check connects the action to the job you intended.
