paycomonline Documents: Finish Your Assigned Checklist

When a paycomonline document task remains unfinished, start with the action requested in the assignment. Opening the file does not establish that an acknowledgment, response or submission has been completed.

Paycom’s Documents and Checklists product lets employers assign documents and tasks, collect acknowledgments and track progress. The employer’s assignment determines what you need to do. Paycom Documents and Checklists

Read the instruction before interpreting the title

A task name tells you its subject, but it may not tell you the action required. “Emergency Contacts” could accompany a request to review existing information or to provide something missing.

Identify the instructions, the relevant date and any deadline shown. If the wording refers to another record or activity, determine whether that separate action is part of the assignment.

Paycom describes onboarding uses such as reading handbooks and signing company policies electronically. It also supports customized acknowledgments. That is why one document task need not end in the same way as another. Official document-management capabilities

Before signing or acknowledging, read the statement associated with that action. Ask how to correct inaccurate information rather than submitting an inaccurate statement simply to clear the task.

Check the individual item and the overall checklist

After completing an action, return to the assignment overview. Find the item you worked on and read the result or message shown beside it.

Then inspect the rest of the checklist. If other items remain, identify them by name instead of assuming the completed item failed.

A practical review is:

  1. Locate the item you just worked on.
  2. Read its recorded result.
  3. Identify any stated next action.
  4. Review other outstanding items.
  5. Ask about a requirement whose meaning is unclear.

These steps are a checking method, not universal interface instructions. Paycom supports configured assignment and review workflows; interpret the screen using the actual instructions provided. Document workflow description

Separate a course problem from a document problem

A checklist may direct you into training. If the task remains open, determine whether work is unfinished inside the course or in the surrounding assignment.

A completed video, an assessment result and a completed checklist answer different questions. Record the course name and the checklist item separately.

The paycomonline learning guide explains how to identify the last successful course activity. If the course appears complete but the checklist remains open, give the reviewer both names so the relationship can be investigated.

Report missing or incorrect work precisely

If an expected assignment is absent, compare its name with the instructions you received and confirm the employer account. Ask the sender whether the task was assigned to you and where it should appear.

A missing assignment does not prove that it is already complete. It also does not prove a system outage.

For incorrect information, identify the field or document section involved. A hypothetical question might be: “The address-review task shows my previous address. Should I correct the underlying record first, or does the assignment itself need updating?”

The personal-information guide covers checking the record behind that kind of question. It does not assume that every document includes an editing function.

Keep a record of the unresolved action

Use a short note containing the employer, assignment title, attempted action, displayed result and deadline. That allows a reviewer to identify the problem without receiving unrelated personnel documents.

If a screenshot is necessary, include only the relevant message. Use the employer’s approved channel for any sensitive material.

For similar or repeated items, ask whether they represent separate requirements before ignoring one. Dates and instructions may distinguish assignments with nearly identical titles.

The Ask Here guide explains how to request a decision about the remaining action. If the deadline is close, ask whether an alternative submission is accepted and how its completion will be recorded.
